Tooles Transport moves to larger premises
According to Motor Transport, Palletways member Tooles Transport has moved into a larger depot so as to cope with growing volumes, as well as to position itself for when the recession ends fully. The Worcestershire-based HGV driving distribution business has reportedly expanded from a three-acre to an estimated five-acre working site.
In addition to that, the site also entails a 37,500ft warehouse in Rushock Trading Estate, Droitwich. Commenting on the expansion, Tooles Transport’s Managing Director John Toole says that a bigger site was mandatory, as the company’s overall distribution business (delivery and transport contracts) has been flourishing very fast.
Toole explained:
“We needed the space to cope with more work, as customers are now rapidly and increasingly becoming attracted to the part-loads and distribution services we can offer via Palletways. We are hoping the warehousing will attract more haulage work this year, and thus put us in a very good position for when the recession is over.”
Ultimately, Toole informs Motor Transport that despite the economy, the group has won 20 new accounts since January this year – as pallet volumes are still growing. He adds:
“We find that a mix of small and large contracts is safest, because it lessens the ‘blow’ if something goes wrong with a big client, for instance. So far it’s been great.”
