Generally, the professional HGV Theory Test – as part of your overall Professional HGV Training Course – is one of the tests you will need to take in order to get your Professional HGV Licence. Now, the Professional HGV Theory Test is usually taken before the practical test. Nevertheless, both tests are of immense importance for you. Why? Because you will have to pass these tests so as to get your Professional HGV Driving Licence and become a Professional HGV Driver in the UK transport industry.

It is important to note that the Professional HGV Theory Test is not like the usual and most common test for standard driving. After all, it is a ‘theory’ test, and it has more to do with the theoretical aspects of HGV driving. These aspects, of course include HGV-related laws, rules and regulations – all of which are frequently found and very much common in the UK business of HGV driving. Passing this test is a must, and you cannot be given a HGV driving licence without passing it.

The Theory Test itself is not as difficult as you may think. Basically, there are two parts: a multiple-choice section, and a ‘Hazard-Perception’ section. But then again, this may vary according to the HGV Training Centre you decide on in the first place. In order to pass the Theory Test, you must get a minimum total of points in each section. There’s absolutely no need to panic while taking the exam, as you may forget what you already know very easily. Therefore, relax and focus on the questions.
