If you are a person who likes to drive about freely then you are suitable for building a career as an HGV driver. However when becoming a HGV driver, you should also have the required training and a HGV driver’s licence. Once you complete your HGV training you can start off your career even in this recession hit situation.

HGV drivers are always in demand because the haulage industry needs to transport goods at all times. By becoming an HGV driver you can earn about £14,000 as a beginner. So, when the pay is so lucrative and you can satisfy your passion of travelling all over the UK and Europe, there is no reason why you should not aspire to become an HGV driver.

A vehicle is branded as a HGV when it is more than 7.5 tonnes. For HGV driving a C licence is required. For driving a larger HGV which have trailers attached to them a C+E licence is required. For mastering the skill of an HGV driver, joining a good HGV training programme is a necessity.

HGV training is provided by a number of organisations, but before you register yourself onto a HGV training programme, make sure that the company that you have chosen is reputable and prestigious. With a good instructor and some hard work, you can complete your HGV training very fast.

Once your HGV training is complete and you pass the theory and practical test you can start working as a successful HGV driver in no time at all.
