HGV driving lessons
HGV driving lesions involve a variety of steps in order for you to be able to drive a HGV legally on British roads. Firstly, HGV driving licenses are classified in two classes C and C+E. The C+E class vehicle is larger than the C class so you have to pass the C class test before getting the C+E licence. The age for being able to obtain a HGV licence has recently been lowered to eighteen.
The HGV training test also involves a written test wherein multiple questions will test the knowledge of the trainee driver on certain aspects of driving. After this, there will be a hazard perception test wherein the trainee will be tested on his skills to spot hazards while driving through video clips. This ensures that the trainee is aware of the hazards that could come up whilst driving a HGV.
The next step is the practical test wherein the drivers will be tested on their driving abilities in various conditions. They will be tested on certain actions like reverse, turning and how they control the vehicle. If you pass both the tests, you will be granted your HGV driving license.
HGV training costs vary depending on your experience. If you are a beginner, it will cost more. However, if you were already working as a HGV driver and all you require is a refreshers course, then this can be done at a marginally cheaper price.
