Andy Akinwolere to debut at the Brands Hatch Truck Superprix

Andy Akinwolere has a surprise in store for all racing fans. Andy will compete on the 31st of October at the Truck Superprix. The Truck Superprix will be held next weekend on Halloween. This race will mark the debut of Blue Peter presenter Andy Akinwolere.

Andy will manoeuvre a five ton 1,000bhp HGV. However, this machine can accelerate at a speed of, 100mph, faster than a Porsche 911. Andy has undergone an extensive HGV-driving training programme in order to prepare for his racing debut. He has also successfully obtained his entry level racing licence with some guidance from Brands Hatch trainers. Andy has also received some useful tips from Stuart Oliver, an eight-time British Truck racing champion.

According to Oliver, the BBC presenter was terrified during his first drive in the HGV truck. However, Andy recovered fast from the initial state of shock and picked up the basics quickly. Oliver is confident that his protégé will emerge successful during the race.
The Brands Hatch Truck Superprix takes place on the 31st of October and the 1st of November. The final four races will be held on November 1st.
