FTA appreciates parking policy for HGV / LGV
The latest news related to the HGV / LGV industry is that the UK government has declared that it will be initiating a national parking plan for HGVs / LGVs. This introduction made by the government has been appreciated and encouraged by the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
HGV / LGV drivers will be provided admission to many parking services all over the country. The parking issue has been taken under consideration as many HGV / LGV operators are struggling to look out for places where their vehicles can be parked legally.
The head of the road management policy at the FTA, Mr. Malcolm Bingham assured the strategy will look into the matter which has been a problem since a long time. He said that the problem regarding safe and secure parking places for HGVs / LGVs will be addressed.
Mr. Bingham also recommended that parking for HGV / LGV will allow drivers to take enough rest. This move is intended to help to increase the overall road safety. He continued to say that commercial HGV / LGV drivers are close to obtaining a wide range of civilised, secure and well equipped parking options as they travel throughout England to deliver goods.
This policy has been supported by the Road Haulage Association too. As there is a lot of shortage of parking places for HGVs / LGVs, this association has encouraged the move taken by the government.
