Keighley based firm R McDowell Distribution have recently splashed out on over £1 million on a new fleet of 17 trucks.

The move comes after the company finalised a number of big money contracts, which adds to their already impressive portfolio of clients.

The vehicles, which are both new and used, include models by Mercedes Benz and Megaspace, and several tractor units have also been purchased.

MD Rodger McDowell confirmed the news and said:

“We have between 80 and 85 trucks on [our] fleet, and recently we’ve picked up a few contracts so we’ve decided to expand the fleet to meet the demand.”
“Our fleet is predominantly Mercedes, and they have proved to be reliable and fuel efficient over the years; that’s why we’ve continued with them. One of our drivers, who has been with the company for over 30 years, likes DAF trucks so as a ‘thank you’ for his loyalty we’ve bought the XF105.”

The enviable new fleet of vehicles will expand the firms HGV driving capacities even further, making them one of the front runners in the industry.
