Renew your workforce agreements quickly
Ruth Pott, director of RHA Employment Affairs said that it has now been five years since the introduction of the Road Transport (working time) regulations 2005.
In April 2005 or later, there were large numbers of HGV / LGV drivers who introduced their workforce agreement. So, the Road Haulage Association wants to remind the members which also include the HGV / LGV drivers about the renewal of their agreements.
When the agreement was introduced, they were secured and negotiated between the employees and employers. This added some sort of flexibility in that particular operation.
All the employers and HGV / LGV drivers can agree to increase the reference period by an average of 48 hours of working time to 26 weeks. In addition to this, they also agreed whether this agreement will be monitored with the help of a rolling or fixed method. This can be used to exceed the night limit work which is 10 hours.
Ruth Pott also stated that, the members and HGV / LGV drivers should not delay in the renewal of the agreements. This is because they are important to the efficient operation of your business. Anyone who is a member can contact their RHA regional office, as staff can offer help and advice.
