DHL gets a new £38m Spicer contract

DHL Express, one of the leading providers of international courier services has recently gained a new contract. The DHL supply chain has won a five-year contract for distribution worth £38m from Spicers, an office products wholesaler.

DHL’s international network includes more than 220 countries throughout the world. They have retained more than 180 employees, a figure which also includes HGV / LGV drivers from BRS.

Under this new contract, DHL will handle the transportation of all office equipment from Spicers to customers and dealers. This includes places such as Glasgow, Greenwich, Bristol, Chessington, Birmingham and Heywood.

Overall, DHL will manage a dedicated team of 98 fleet vehicles, and will use a variety of HGVs / LGVs and trailers for their operations.

According to the customer service director of Spicers, Vida Barr-Jones, DHL is one of the leading companies in the world when it comes to providing courier services. Barr-Jones has also said that DHL understand their business and values, and that one of the best things about the company is that they are innovative and flexible.

He went on to say that by giving this contract to DHL, they have shown confidence in the company, and they are looking forward to developing a strong business relationship with DHL in years to come.
