HGV training is not all about learning how to handle the vehicle as you are in transit. It is also about knowing the rules once you have stopped the vehicle. So while you are undergoing HGV training, you will learn about parking your vehicle.

Many HGV / LGV drivers find that they struggle to find places to park; particularly when they are delivering goods to a shop in a busy street. So here are some rules that you will learn during HGV training.

• You can load and unload your vehicle in a loading bay which is normally marked out on the road.
• You can normally stay in a parking bay for 20 minutes.
• You should not park your vehicle with any of its wheels on the pavement unless there is no other option and the vehicle is attended at all times.

Of course, there is much more than this to learn about the rules of the road when it comes to HGV driving. But a HGV / LGV driving course will equip you with all the knowledge and expertise you need to make a living from this exciting career.
