Fraser Freight has just announced that it has purchased two new Man HGVs, breaking its long tradition of using DAF.

The two new Man trucks will complement its existing fleet of 15 DAFs and will be expected to travel across Europe as part of the company’s current logistics commitments.

Managing Director of Fraser Freight Ross Fraser stated:

“As our trucks spend 90% of their working lives in Europe we always buy them in left-hand drive and the new MANs are no different. Business has increased hence the fleet additions and we now run a daily service to Milan from Portsmouth on top of services to Germany, the Benelux countries, France and Spain.”

The back up deal was what enticed Fraser freight to MAN, Mr Fraser further commented:

“We purchase our vehicles outright and run them for three years maximum. The reason being we like to run the latest up-to-date trucks and also with the mileage they do, roughly 100,000 miles a year, it doesn’t pay to keep them for any longer than that.

“Our drivers like the new vehicles and we’ve deliberately specified all the creature comforts because they are away for up to a week at a time so it has to be comfortable.”
