More new trailers for Collease
Collease has just announced a new deal with Dennison that will see the Norfolk based firm acquire 100 new trailers. Collease had expanded rapidly and this is the second deal with Dennison in the space of just six months. It also takes their trailer spend to £3m over the past year.
The new deal involves the part exchange of Collease’s nine year old rolling stock. And will see Collease get 70 skeletal trailers and 30 curtain-siders as part of a hire purchase agreement.
Collease also ordered over 100 Dennison trailers in February of this year.
70% of the Collease fleet is aimed at the container market and they currently have about 3,500 trailers and trucks in their fleet.
Operators are taking on more work at the moment but should still be wary of the economic problems.
Talking about confidence in the market, General Manager and director of Collease, Duncan Scillitoe, stated:
“We have seen it build, although there is still the threat next year of the double-dip recession.
“We have seen with some larger fleets that instead of going out and buying, they are subcontracting to smaller hauliers and owner-drivers, and it is them who are coming to us to for spot hire,”
