Norbert Dentressangle sees successful start to 2010
Norbert Dentressangle has announced that it has seen 64 per cent rise in profit during the first six months of 2010. It has also announced that it has acquired US company, Schneider Logistics, a freight forwarder, as of today.
Norbert Dentressangle’s earnings for the first half of the year were £37.2m, a significant improvement on the first half of 2009, which saw £22.7m in earnings. Turnover was also up to £1.15bn from £1.10bn in the same period the year before. Transport revenue also saw a rise; up 7.3 per cent to £674m.
Speaking about the acquisition of Schneider Logistics, the CEO of Norbert Dentressangle, Francois Bertreau, said:
“The acquisition, now under way, strengthens the development of our new freight forwarding business and gives us immediate access to the key continents of North America and Asia.”
“According to a sound balance sheet and competitive operating resources, we are poised to take advantage of any market uptrend.”
