New HGVs for Encon
Wetherby-based Encon has just received eight new DAFs from Fraikin which it will use for the delivery if its insulation materials. The trucks have been specified with curtainsider bodies built by Bevan Group.
The contract hire deal will see the vehicles deliver thermal and acoustic insulation, including fire protection and building products to customers across the UK. All the trucks have automatic transmission and enhanced driver comfort and safety.
The Facilities manager at Encon, Barbara Sudlow said:
“We worked closely with Bevan and Fraikin on this project. Improvements were made in the construction of the bodies to improve operational efficiency. More important, though, was the need to support and protect the driver and other road users, so health and safety was our priority.”
Key safety considerations included the automatic transmissions and reinforced flush bulkheads. The order comprises three 26-tonne HGVs, a 32-tonne HGV and four 7.5-tonners.
Barbara Sudlow further commented:
“Our customers consistently tell us our delivery service is second to none. Thirty years of operating experience in these markets has taught us exactly what service means to each of our customers, and enables us to tailor our operation accordingly. With these new Bevan-bodied trucks, we are reinforcing our position at the forefront of our industry.”
